Freedom! It’s what you’ve been called to. But, real freedom isn’t about being able to do whatever you feel like. Real freedom happens when you see the Truth, know the Truth, and surrender to the Truth. Jesus is that Truth that can set you free. He can set you free into a life where you’re no longer a slave to yourself or your feelings. Instead, you are set free to love others as He first loved you. When this happens you will realize that you were set free for something better than what this Life has to offer. The truth is, you were SET FREE TO LIVE FREE.

Living Free, the youth ministry of ALFC, connects God with teens of different backgrounds and interests from all parts of the city. 7th – 12th graders are impacted and inspired through live bands, drama, comedy, relevant teachings and a state-of-the-art game room.

PARENTS

At Living Free, our desire is to work with you to prepare and develop your students for life. That is exactly what our staff, leaders and volunteers are called to do.

Whats the Bible about?

At first glance, many people get the impression that the Bible is a series of disconnected stories making random points about life. But the truth is that the Bible is a bunch of stories all leading up to the life of one person, Jesus Christ. Every story in the Old Testament is about people whose lives reflect the life that Jesus would one day live in perfection. As you read the Old Testament, ask yourself “How does this person’s life resemble the life that Jesus lived?” The New Testament is about the life that Jesus lived and sacrificed for us. It also shows us how those who were closest to Him were transformed and consequently transformed their world. As you read through the Scriptures, ask yourself “How can my life look more like the life of Jesus?”

Why is it important for your student to go to their own church service?

What’s the point of my kids going to a separate service? The Bible is the Bible, church is church right? The reality is that it’s a little more complicated than that. You see, being a teenager is different than being an adult. Being a teenager brings it’s own challenges, its own problems and a unique mindset. Surely, as adults, we no longer think as we did when we were teenagers. Because of that, information is received and learned differently during our teenage years than in our adult years.

But my teenager doesn't want to be in a church service by themselves

Studies have shown us common characteristics among the world’s most successful people. Two of those common characteristics were the ability to socially interact and the ability to overcome adversity. Your teen may not want to attend youth by themselves because they feel “awkward.” But overcoming awkward social settings is a part of life and a great way to train for success. So I encourage you to push your child beyond their comfort zone into a setting where they can learn in a manner they understand.

Launch Youth Conference

Every summer, we as a church, set aside a few days to put our junior high and high schoolers in the spotlight. They take over our main auditorium and we watch God do His thing in them. Through them. And for them. Lives are changed and healed. Young people are set free by the power of God. And when that week is over, we launch them back into the world to be a shining light for all to see. We encourage you parents and grandparents, don’t stay at home. Come to these services with them. Support them, and watch what God does in their lives and in your family. Get actively involved in God’s work in your young person’s life. Be here. Bring their friends. Take action and allow God to use you to change their world.

Safety

We believe that safety is vital as families entrust us with their teens each week. Therefore, every volunteer is screened with an interview and federal background check, and every hallway is monitored with security personnel and cameras.

Age Appropriateness

For many youth, they know about Jesus, but they don’t know Jesus. Students in 7th-12th grade face a variety of issues and we teach them how to apply God’s Word and promises in everyday situations as they grow to know Him more. Our hope is that youth learn to rely on God and not their friends, insecurities or mistakes. All our messages are created based on the physical, mental and emotional needs of each youth.

Pretty Awesome!

We know what’s cool and what’s NOT! Your teens will want to come to church, and won’t want to leave. From the latest video game consoles in the game room to the small groups in our services, your young person will have many opportunities to meet new people and make new friends in an environment where they are cared for and encouraged.

Volunteer Today

Living Free provides teaching in a way where teenagers can understand and relate to. We also have the best volunteers who are willing and ready to connect with teens and help them apply God’s Word to their life. Whether you are an adult or a teenager, we have various departments for you to use the talents and abilities God has given you within our youth ministry.
